Road Cycling Holidays Lake Constance - 6 Days / 5 Nights. Lake Constance is situated in a prime location between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There is a dedicated bike path going around the lake. For this cycle tour, we selected routes into the back country as well. Many times the trail will be flat but there are some demanding ascents to climb if you decide to cycle into the Swiss mountains.

Lovely small cities are situated next to the lake along with attractions along the route such as the famous Rhine waterfalls in Schaffhausen. Depending on the season, you'll pass vineyards and fruit orchards in full bloom or see the Alps covered in snow. A highlight of this tour is the Mainau Castle with gorgeous botanical gardens set on an island.

Tour Details: You will ride through countryside dotted with small hills, river valleys and historic cities. Depending on which route you choose, you'll follow smaller side roads and dedicated cycle paths. At times, during peak season, you'll ride on main roads with heavy traffic. More details are given in your tour book, which you receive the first night in your hotel. For this tour, you should have a strong level of physical fitness, especially if you selected the steeper route. Along with steep ascents, the descents require experience going down serpentine curves on small mountain roads. Hm = difference of altitude
